St Patrick's Day is celebrated on the 17th of March each year commemorating St. Patrick of Ireland. People specially from the UK, USA and Canada celebrate the Day with much pomp and grandeur. People on this day wear clothes green in color as well as shamrocks which is a clover with three leaves in remembrance of the 'Emerald Island' or Ireland.

17th March is not the birthday of St. Patrick but it was on this day he passed away. Though His exact year of birth or death is unclear till date but according to some scholars, he was born in 387 AD and died in 460 AD. The Irish are observing this day for over thousand years as a religious feast day and the anniversary of St. Patrick's death.
